IPS acquired Postfield Systems in July 2005, a company with 40+ year’s maintenance experience in the rail & government sector. This acquisition increased the maintenance contracts and the capabilities of the Maintenance & Support Division already in place.
The company has recently been awarded the Security Systems Maintenance Contract at the prestigious British Library. This three year contract covers the maintenance of the CCTV, Access Control, Intruder and Radio PA Systems. For further details please refer to our case studies.

• IPS first developed their own Task Management System (TMS) back in 2000. Since then the system has evolved to cater for many differing maintenance contract applications. As the system has been developed in house, we are able to adapt the system easily to meet new or unique customer requirements. The TMS is an automated maintenance management system. Full details of a clients sites, systems, previous faults and assets are uploaded to the system. Then when a fault is logged on the system, an individual asset can be selected. By selecting an individual asset for the fault you can view all of the asset details, make, model number, and even previous faults associated with this asset. Every part of the system is designed to produce a full audit trail from the initial call to the cleared fault. This is key for SLAs. Detailed historical reporting is also a large part of the system, the data held can be mined easily to produce highly detailed reports. As a customer you can log on to the TMS at any time from any internet enabled device (PC, Tablet, Phone) and view the status and history of a current fault, and view any faults that are on hold. The TMS is a powerful, reliable tool for managing our clients maintenance needs.

• Repair Centre – We have a fully operational repair centre with experienced and qualified repair technicians who work with advanced computer management and stock control systems to enable full tracking of the repair process. The latest diagnostic equipment also means the fault repair lead time is reduced and legacy equipment has a fast turnaround due to the large stock holding.
IPS/Postfield Systems was chosen as the sub-contractor to undertake communications Phase One system design and installation works at Kings Cross and on successful completion of the project was awarded the communications maintenance contract for three years. The communications systems backbone is based on LAN architecture and a number of virtual LANs are deployed over the same dual resilient 1Gb fibre network. The CCTV and SCADA systems are transported over the network and the CCTV system consists of RAID arrays for video and audio storage. The CCTV system architecture and network was designed to support a maximum of 700 cameras via a Cisco central controller. This contract also includes a huge number of British Transport Police (BTP) CCTV downloads on behalf of London Underground.
